Large-scale terrestrial networks

Going significantly beyond other network emulation tools, OpenLANES is able to straightforwardly and comprehensively emulate a wide range of large-scale terrestrial networks: Internet Backbone, operator and ISP and local networks.

Using its dynamic network topology capabilities, it can also emulate mobile and nomadic networks, providing the environment for comprehensive testing and validation.

Automating across JSON files, different topologies can be run in sequence to enable the acquisition of results for many relevant environments.

OpenLANES emulates numerous nodes using virtual machines or containers, ideal for validating software solutions in comprehensive networks like large-scale 5G deployments. On-demand, network nodes can be equipped with open software such as srsRAN, Open Air Interface, Fraunhofer Open5GCore, or other implementations, providing comprehensive validation environments.
